Ladakh
is a place of breathtaking natural beauty set in a spectacular and
enormous environment. It is situated between the two mountain ranges of
Southern Himalaya and the North Karakoram. It is well-known for its
mountain beauty and culture. It is a beautiful destination

It
is the adventurous place and cultural place that is surrounding by high
hills. As it is highly influenced by the Tibetan culture it is also
known as ‘Little Ladakh’. Leh is the biggest town of Ladakh. Since
1974, it is opened for tourists and the recently opened areas are
Pangong TSO, Numbra Valley, Dhan Hanu and TSO Moriri.
Culture of Ladakh
As
said earlier, its’ culture is similar to Tibetan culture. You will find
Tibetan and Indian influence in architecture of Ladakh. Deep Buddhist
approach is visible in monastic architecture. Religious chanting in
Sanskrit and Tibetan is an integral part of their religion. These
chants are very complex and reciting in the monastic festival of
Ladakh.
Another important part of its’ cultural
life is religious mask dance. Hemis Monastery is the leading place for
religious mask dance. It narrates the story of fighting between evil
and good, ending with the victory of good. Every year in September,
ladakh festival is held. It is one of the state that is unaffected by
western culture. It has interesting mixture of cultural and ethnic
group. Ladakhi people are known for their honesty, friendly nature and
humanity.
